Here is an interesting story I ran across today. This chap is a Christian who pretended to be gay to research a book he was writing. Basically he came out to everyone as gay, lived as gay, etc. for a whole year to gather research. And now he has said that he is actually straight and that it was all a hoax just to get data. Turns out that he has ended up being sympathetic towards gay people and that they have been misrepresented compared to all the things he has always been told. Now people are angry at him for having told a bunch of lies.
It’s an interesting position. There have been stories in the past of gay people pretending to be straight to do exposes of conversion therapy etc. so is this any different? I am not sure. It’s nice that he actually emerged from it all as being supportive but I am a little concerned as to whether this was a good thing or not. What do you all think?
