Well, the election is done. President Obama was re-elected and the man who vowed to void millions of Americans marriages, take away healthcare, etc. has been defeated. But perhaps the best news of all is that the tide seems to be turning in the race for marriage equality.
Three states had votes for marriage equality: Maine, Maryland, and Washington. All three voted to approve equality, a landmark decision. A fourth state, Minnesota voted to not enshrine bigotry in their constitution, although they already have a law that prohibits marriage equality.
This shows that the tide is turning in our favour and that through showing our faces and being visible we can win this fight. With a president who supports us this battle can be won.
Onwards and upwards.
