This is a little chilling. As we move ever closer to hearing whether the US Supreme Court will decide whether to hear any of the cases on marriage equality, one of the justices, Antonin Scalia has said this week that ruling on gay rights is, for him, a no brainer.
It’s really difficult to hear that a justice seems to have made his decision on something at a 50,000 foot level already without the case having even been heard. That hardly fills me with any confidence in the system that is supposed to be fair and balance. It certainly seems that Scalia (and probably others) already go into these things with their minds already made up to a certain point.
It’s going to be a nail-biting few month while we wait to see what happens next. Should our rights really be put to this sort of test?
