Happy Wednesday to you all! Today’s link is a really depressing amalgamation of the GOP platforms from across the USA. It paints a sad story. Despite the fact that some changes have occurred within the Republican Party there is still much that needs to be done. The excerpts reveal that the anti-gay bias and mis-information that has existed in this party for years around gay people is still alive, kicking and seemingly growing.
A few snippets for your pleasure:
Texas: ““We affirm that the practice of homosexuality tears at the fabric of society and contributes to the breakdown of the family unit. Homosexual behavior is contrary to the fundamental, unchanging truths that have been ordained by God, recognized by our country’s founders, and shared by the majority of Texans. Homosexuality must not be presented as an acceptable ‘alternative’ lifestyle, in public policy, nor should ‘family’ be redefined to include homosexual ‘couples.’”
Oklahoma: “those promoting homosexuality or other aberrant lifestyles should not be allowed to hold responsible positions over children, which are not their own, or other vulnerable persons.”
California: “We believe public policy and education should not be exploited to present or teach homosexuality as an acceptable ‘alternative’ lifestyle,”
You can read the rest of it for yourself. Just be assured that the Republican Party is clearly anti-gay. There is no arguing about that fact whatsoever after reading this.
