The Olympics and gay musicians.

Today’s Link

Greetings all and a happy Sunday to you!  Today is the final day of the Olympics in London and the closing ceremony is almost upon us.  I’ll be glued to the TV screen to see if the Spice Girls make their rumoured appearance!

What is interesting in looking at the roster of artists scheduled to perform are the number of artists who are either out of the closet and/or vocally supportive regarding sexuality and equality.  Freddie Mercury, Jessie J, George Michael, Pet Shop Boys, to name a few.  You may think that this is not a big deal but there would have been a time when artists would have been passed over for such a big event because of their sexuality politics.  So I think that this is a great thing and one that should be celebrated!

Enjoy the ceremony!
